In today’s Founder Story, we feature David Martínez de Lecea, the CEO of Exirio!
Read on for lessons he has learned from launching and marketing his business.
1. Please introduce your business and share your role.
I’m David Martínez de Lecea, and I’m the CEO of Exirio.
At Exirio, we’re building cutting-edge wealth tracking apps designed to empower individuals to take control of their financial lives. Our platform provides a consolidated view of all your assets, including bank accounts, investments, and cryptocurrencies, enabling you to track your net worth in real-time. We leverage the latest technology to deliver a seamless and user-friendly experience, giving you valuable insights into your financial health and helping you make informed decisions about your future.
Our target audience is anyone who wants to simplify their financial life and gain a clearer picture of their overall wealth. Whether you’re a seasoned investor or just starting out, Exirio provides the tools and insights you need to achieve your financial goals.
What sets Exirio apart is our commitment to innovation and user-centric design. We’re constantly exploring new ways to enhance our app and provide our users with the most comprehensive and intuitive wealth tracking experience possible. Our mission is to democratize access to sophisticated financial management tools and empower individuals to make smarter financial decisions in their path towards financial freedom.
2. What’s your backstory, what kind of challenges did you face, and how did you come up with your business idea?
I completed studies in Computer Science and began my career as a consultant, advising major financial institutions and private equity firms on a range of strategic issues. This experience gave me a deep understanding of the financial industry and its challenges.
However, my passion for technology always burned bright and kept coming back to all the opportunities that the fintech industry offers.
The idea for Exirio was born out of my and my friends’ frustration with the lack of user-friendly tools for managing personal wealth. All wealthy individuals I knew were struggling to keep track of their various assets and investments, and I wanted to create a solution that would empower people to take control of their financial lives.
With Exirio, I set out to combine my expertise in finance and technology to build a truly innovative wealth tracking platform. Our mission is to democratize access to sophisticated financial management tools and make them accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial background, and help our Users achieve financial freedom.
3. How did you prepare for, and go about your launch?
We took the approach of launching a quick MVP followed by endless iterations from there on. We develop our products based on the long term vision and the feedback from our Users, who become our best ambassadors.
4. Since launching, what types of marketing campaigns and designs have worked best to attract and retain customers?
Most of our growth has been organic on the back of stellar User reviews in public forums and content from personal finance influencers. Although we also tried some paid marketing activities, the results have been negligible compared to the organic growth.
5. What have been the most influential brands for your business? Whose branding and marketing do you aspire to and why?
At Exirio we focus on building the best solutions for our Users while we let their reviews build our marketing. We recognize the great work done by many brands but we don’t spend much time thinking about that.
6. What are your favorite marketing platforms/tools?
Personal finance forums in reddit, Facebook and personal finance content on YouTube, Instagram, X, or TikTok.
7. Who or what inspires and motivates you?
Receiving feedback from happy Users of Exirio. There’s nothing more satisfying than reading an honest and enthusiastic from someone whom we’ve helped manage their investments.
